Salmakki

At a certain Worldcon I finally got the chance to sample Salmakki(scroll down the link) at the Finnish party. Heavenly—but sweet.

"I agree," the smiling hostess said: "Solution: dilute it with a bit more vodka!"

"But you're mixing vodka with vodka!" the horrified woman next to her exclaimed.

"Exactly!"

The Russan Texans in the room next door of the Hilton party floor were only too happy to oblige.

I'm only now recovering. A word of warning re-iterated by all who had sampled the black nectar: it tastes just like a sweet. You might be forgetting that you are drinking spirits!
